Roofing Quote Checklist for Contractors

A clear roofing proposal is about more than shingles and square footage. Before you set a final number, confirm what must be measured, purchased, scheduled and excluded.

Check the work and site conditions

Roof type, pitch, area and penetrations; tear-off and disposal scope; decking condition and repair allowances; gutters, flashing, underlayment and ventilation; access, staging and weather allowances.

Check costs before choosing a price

Crew size and production assumptions, loaded labor cost, material quantity and waste factors, delivery or equipment rental, permits where applicable, overhead, contingency and desired gross margin.

Protect the scope

List exactly which surfaces and systems are included, how hidden damage and changes are handled, who provides permits, working hours and any actual warranty and payment terms.

Review before you send
